Don't know if this will help, but you could try one of the following
transistors that, according to my cross, are equivalent to the NTE2353:
BU-2508DF, BUH-515, S-2055AF, 2SC-3892, 2SC-3293, 2SC-4123, 2SC-4124,
2SC-4125, 2SC-4531, 2SC-4762, 2SC-4769, 2SC-4916, 2SC-5003, 2SD-1849,
2SD-1880, 2SD-1881.
