The only TRUE HDTV I've seen, has been a couple of Demos by Mitsubishi
and Panasonic at
the Virginia Professional Electronics Convention. Both times they used
a HD VCR.
Both times the picture was better than ANY NTSC System. I was very
impressed.
I can't wait till all the dust settles. Then I WILL buy a HDTV.
BTW HDTV VCR's have been for sell for 2 years ( I am told).

No DVD's can reproduce HD. For that you need the new HD-DVD decks
coming to stores very soon.
Which a lot of manufacutures have accepted. These units will also play
old DVD's.
 But wait ; Toshiba's Blue-Ray DVD's are also coming after HD-DVD. The
Blue-Ray decks
hold tons more media and now many manufactures are embracing that
format also.
It's like VHS verses BETA all over again. Blue-Ray is NOT backward
compatable to our
current DVD system.

I think the current thinking is, "Keep changing it, to make the money"

I have to agree with LeRoy. Give me a good NTSC set and I will put it
up a=
gainst any of the HD sets. The picture is crappy to say the least.
Perhap=
s I haven't seen the so called good HD sets. I have a customer that
spent =
$8,000 for his entertainment center. What a disappointment on my part.
 My=
NTSC set looked better and I didn't spend anything near that and I
never w=
ill.
