Kevin, All kidding aside, sometimes a "gentle" tap will causes an intermittent to act up, the hard part is finding it. Were you able to monitor the PS when the unit was turning on and off? Was it the back-light that was turning on and off or was the entire unit shutting down? Not being able to turn the unit off once in a while may indicate a micro problem. These monitors aren't very servicable, all those VLSI chips inside and all, good luck.
