The example is useful, because of the way lane capacity is affected by
approach and exit behaviour. It is a real, not a made up example.

Thanks Paul, that would be useful if you have it to hand so that I can
have=
 a read.

Thanks again

Ian

Whatever you do, do NOT take any notice of width, that was strictly 50's
thinking from the TRL track tests TP56 and all that, not that there
aren't still some useful bits in TP 56 if you have a copy. This is
clearly set out in RR67 and in a similar document from the Australian
Road Research Bureau.

As Mervyn says I did a doc for Birmingham and can let you have a copy of
the summary as I presented at the Nottingham symposium if it is of any
use, the worked example is useful.

Subject: [TCUG] RR67 sat Flow

We use RR67 to derive sat flows for TRANSYT when it's a new build that
can't be measured onsite, but a colleague from another office has said
that he recalls a paper that was subsequent to RR67 and defined Sat flow
in bands directly relating to width for use in transyt. We use RR67 as
this is the latest we know of and its use in LINSIG backs up this view
but I thought I'd ask the forum if anyone knew of this work and if it
was subsequent to RR67 ?
Thanks

Ian
