I now have some before/after pictures of a couple of nearside indicators fitted
with the louvre.

If anyone would like to see them let me know.

Subject: [TCUG] Nearside indicator read through

One of our sub contractors has come up with a method of adding an internal
louvre to a nearside indicator. The louvre reduces the angle of view from one
direction to about 45deg (from the standard 70/80 deg) and it can be rotated
for either a left or right sided cut off.

We are hoping that this will avoid having to position indicators at silly
angles in order to prevent pedestrian read through at sites with multiple
crossing points.

At the moment we are awaiting DfT consent to trial these louvres but in the
mean time I was just wondering;

a) how many other users were experiencing difficulties resolving read through
issues, especially at junctions, when using nearside indicators.

b) if anyone has come up with a method, other than excessively rotating the
unit or switching back to far sided signals, which also resolves the problem.
