Last weekend I ambled round Caen in Normandy dodging in this case, (since they drive on the wrong side over there) right turning cars while I crossed road junctions clearly displaying a green man. I assume this was the flashing amber in action. If so the drivers did not care to cede priority to peds, and being not used to it, I found it somewhat hairy. Does anyone know whether the French use the system, and if so, what the accident rates are like ?
