Graham, It's the same in Paris. Not much information! For drivers, there always seem to be two heads, one on the near side and one somewhere else and not always obvious. Crossing on a green man can be a little hairy as only traffic at the stop line on your crossing has to stop. Traffic on conflicting approaches seem able to turn through a crossing facility provided they take care. As a pedestrian, you also have to take care... a great deal of it! Do we go too far in this country, IE removing peoples brains completely, or do they expect too much in the way of common sense in France?
