Hi Jan

I'm a newbie/lurker and like Mary and Ross, I use silicone moulds also...
though I must admit to using just about anything I can lay my hands on
('cept polystyrene of course!). KMart seems the best (cheapest) place to
buy the silicone moulds.

HI Jan,

Welcome and regarding moulds - the other day I was in K mart and they had
some great silicon muffin or little size cake moulds ($13.50) about 5 or 6
in one tray. I bought the hearts and stars but their was some nice 'log'
looking ones. The mould I bought, each heart or star will hold just over
100gms which is a good size for a bar of soap (for me anyway). Not sure
about websites. Im sure the others can help you. Good luck

mary

Hello all
I am new, just joined the other day because I'm interested in making soap, I
have been enjoying all the emails coming through. I have a basic soap
recipe that I am wanting to start with. I haven't got any moulds, could
some of you give me some ideas of what I could use as a mould for my first
soap project? Where can I buy soap moulds? I have googled and haven't
found anywhere except Aromatics and more, but I don't want little flowers
and things, I'd like something as in a "cake of soap", something rectangular
or rounds but not stars and things. I'd love your help as I am not very
creatively minded but would like to make soap and also would like to make
some shaving cream for my husband so I don't have to buy the cans at $10 a
throw. Although I don't have a recipe for making that yet.
Are there any websites that anyone know of that may help me on the way to
making my own stuff?
Regards Jan
