Kathy,
I find your experience with cardiac testing interesting.  Do you know if the 
cardiac test was through a vet office or a certified cardiologist using 
echocardiogram and color doppler?

In regard to the DM test, I have yet to hear of a false result when the test 
was done through OFA (based on my research).  But, I did notice that OFA 
stopped accepting other DM test results from labs that were not their own.  So, 
maybe some labs had different testing which resulted in false results.  I would 
err on the side of caution and absolutely test for DM but do it through OFA. I 
tested my pup and it was pretty easy.  You just really had to make sure the 
mouth was clean with no residue of food or bone or anything so we swabbed first 
thing in morning before breakfast AND that you don't accidentally touch the 
swab part! Just my opinion....
