While not an official Board member I'd like to offer my position on these 3
topics -

1 - I don't see why not as the e-mail doesn't cost us anything to send out.

2 - Don't remember why the 3 month limit was imposed, does anyone remember?
Otherwise don't see why not post as it is released.

3 - Watch out for this one. There are some folks who don't have high speed,
much less medium speed, connections and cannot download the NL. Perhaps
they would need to pay for a printed copy.

Board,

I'd like your okay for a couple of ideas.

(1) Make the newsletter available n/c to all science teachers in the
State. (Walt Thomas is looking into whether or not there is such a email
distribution list and whether or not the state education department would
let us use it.)

(2) I'd like to put the CURRENT version of the newsletter on the web page
for viewing by the public the month it is released. That is, put March's NL
on the web page this month, not in 3 or 6 months.

(3) I'd like to discontinue all printed copies of the NL. With the March
issue, I'd like to mail the few we do and include a cover letter stating
that this is the last hard copy issue they will receive, and that if they
want to continue to receive issues, they need to supply us with an email
address.

Can you please chime in on these points with your thoughts ASAP? I'd like
permission to do this starting March.
