Funny enough, the ring with the writing has nothing to do with the lens, I discovered last night. It sits into the silver section that houses the hood. That piece actually fell out last night after I removed the three screws that hold the mount. The glass sat on top of the cell and spun on top of the cell. I do not think that the entire cell rotated, only the glass that was on top.
The GX does not have screws on the bayonet so it does not unscrew the same way. Todd as far as I could tell, only the glass moved. I actually just boxed both cameras up and sent them to Rollei in New Jersey to look at. The place is called Krimmer Photo Shop. The service department at Rollei USA said that this guy would take a look at it.

Thats the best answer. Please let us know what Krikor tells you about this.
