http://community.pentaho.com/ has the open source side of things. The
first thing to try would probably be prd - the Pentaho Report Designer.
Then if you are able to use that for some interesting reports and want
web server access, look at the BI server platform. It is a fairly
massive project and mostly driven by the commercial side, but those two
parts aren't too difficult to download and run.
