Dear Uncle Dick,

Thanks for doing all those experiments for me. Maybe we should 
dispense with mats altogether!  One possibility would be just to 
frame photographs like posters with no mats.  If people are worried 
about the print touching the glass, you could add those little spacer 
things that Daniel Smith sells to keep the frame glass away from the 
print.

Or you could do what I usually do and use thumbtacks to secure the 
print to the wall.  Or maybe those clear photo corners.
