I recently dug out an old (and one year past expiration) roll of 120 TMY to try. This was certainly no scientific test (particularly given the outdated film), and I did not shoot any comparison rolls. I had not shot any TMY since I stopped giving my film to the lab and started developing it myself a couple of years ago, and I just wanted to see what it looked like compared to my usual Delta 400. I've also recently started using XTOL, which some fans of TMY particularly like, so that was another incentive to test. So I shot the roll at 400, bracketing exposures, and developed for the recommended time in XTOL 1:1. I was impressed with the results. I feared nasty highlights (given TMY's reputation), but didn't get them, even in challenging sun/shadow exposures. The grain was minimal, less than I'm accustomed to seeing with Delta 400. And the speed and sharpness were good enough to make me want to experiment some more with fresh film. --Ben ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
