I haven't tried this combination, but I do know that there are papers out there with very long scales. When I first learned printing, I was taught to expose for maximum black. When I used Varycon PE paper, "maximum black" gave prints that looked to consist of only shades of black! If I were to try paper negatives and POP (which I DO use), I would try Viradon-toned Varycon negatives.
