Dear Mark,

for stuff like that I use a *thin* layer of transparent sicone (not the stuff for breasts :-)) but the stuff you use to fill the cracks between bathtub & wall for example.

I do no know an American "brand name" but any good DIY shop should carry that stuff. Generay it is applied with a sort of "gun" which taes the silcone "cartridge" and you use the "trigger" to push a piston forward inside the cartridge to make the stuff come out the nozzle.

Here in Germany the stuff comes in black, white, transparent and an assortment of kind of "standard" bathroom decor colours which allow you to match the filler with the rest of the bathroom.

As said: use only sparingly: evenly coat the back of the rubber with the stuff and üut it back on, On my old Minolta lenses the rubber also stretched so I cut the ring open and shortened the band a bit to fit snugly.

The rings has never dared to come off again :-)

Good luck.

BTW: quetsch of the day: what I really miss these days is an f-stop ring on the lenses. Thats why I really adore my old lenses: everything for the lens ON the lens!

Love,
Snoopy

Well at least its more of an annoyance than a problem. I have an old Canon 28 80 2.8-4.0L that I have used for several years, and I bought it used. Well the rubber grip that is for the zoom has come unglued and actually might have stretched just a bit, but I think it would be ok IF I can find the right glue to get it to stick again.

Anyone know what glue they used at the factory to keep this in place or if its happened to you, what glue you used to get it to stick again that worked??? Thanks in advance.

Mark
