Hi,
I just want to respond to the statement that the 'handle' of the
dodging tool casts a shadow. I have never had a problem with this; I
just keep the handle moving the whole time.

Didja know?? Dodging tools have actually been DISCONTINUED as
something that is order-able!
I know most people make them themselves anyhoo, but I have a class of
students and I am not about to sit down & make all those! So it will
be a lesson plan, incorporating the history of film photography's
downward spiral, but it is increasingly frustrating to not be able to
get what you want as in the days of yore.........
Just had to vent!
