some of the default interface settings of jaws, the unchangeable ones are more in tune with the interface with the newer IDE, and its a fair and legitimate chance for him to get his jaws upgraded
the difference will not be great, just a little bit, but there are items that one runs into that work better with a alternative version of jaws, generally the one released in or just after the release of the application
just as I generally kill jaws 8 and start jaws 7.0 if I am going to be working with Nero express 6 (made just before jaws 7.0), and I must... kill 8 and start 7 if I am going to be using my favorite dice rolling program for my gaming, since the interface logistics is different enough that jaws 7 will read it, jaws 8 will not.
and I have found the reverse to be true as well, jaws 8 works a bit better with VB.net, while jaws 7 works better with VB 6.

Marvin, you might want to take this chance to get your jaws upgraded, I do believe that jaws 8 works better with the vs IDE's than does jaws 6, and you will need the scripts for VS 2005-2008 that are available from my grab bag site (see URL under my name) and can benefit from other materials there for the VS IDE's there as well. good luck, inthane.
