You may want to purchase (get) an inexpensive DVD Rom Burner for installing
your software. (You might be able to use the Thumb Drive to load your
software, but it tends to be easier to use the external DVD burner (about
$50 at Staples)

I just bought a little e-machine netbook as my Mother just
went into Nursing Home and I can use it there for writing
and reading PDFs.
It is so cute. Has more power, more memory both RAM and
hard drive than the computer I bought in 1997 for $3000.
This little cutie was only $228 at Walmart. I think it
weighs about 2 pounds (LOL).
Got a 4 GB thumb drive and can read the stuff from it :-)
