I've just rebooted the PC so I can get my facts right. Rebooting without the CD takes me straight to the screen...Windows failed to start and the rest that I told you in the original mail. Rebooting with the CD in gives me 2 screens of stuff ( the usual boot up information) with boot from CD or DVD at the end, and then it brings up the Windows failed to start screen. Hope this helps patti > Patti, > What are the actual differences in the bootup process whether you have > the DVD in or not? > > Peace, > Gman > > "The only dumb questions are the ones we fail to ask" > > >>I forgot to tell you that when the installation disc is put in the opening >> screen goes thru the usual load up stuff and then at the bottom tells me >> to >> load from the CD, but then that's when I get the other message ...The >> selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing >>> or corrupt. etc >> Patti > --------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to trim your replies (including this sentence and everything below it) and adjust the subject line as necessary.
