Thank you everyone!
I am hoping that this is the case here - There is a 'history' though that I have
concerns about.
I'll just have to wait to see if anything transpires. I haven't rejected the
request yet. Should I just let it sit there
and not reject it?

I moderate a couple of lists at yahoogroups myself, and if people are
questionable and are asking to join, I simply ignore the request. Nothing
happens, nothing revealed.

Yes - I need to be very careful. And there is no way we would invite this
person to join - what happens at yahoo when we reject them? and if they can
find the group, and if it is this person, they have already managed to
delete groups from yahoo - what about my personal information is available
to them? If it is this person, they know their way around yahoo, and around
the internet and computers.
thank you!

Cris,

I would say be very, very careful. It is not a good idea to reveal too
much about yourself, your address etc on the internet.
Is the invitation to join the group signed? If no originating valid
evidence appears, I would not entertain it. But, what is the group you
are involved with have to say about it? Perhaps you could obtain help
from that source.

But, I would say, you are already showing suspicion. Act accordingly, Cris

Others will contribute to this, I am sure.

All the best

Rick H.
