Afternoon again information to inform others who might be interested in the program. Pccillin can be set to schedule system scan(s) at any predetermined time in the settings under Virus scan-scan tasks tasks can be added/edited or deleted as need be (they can also be temporarily disabled if required). The default installation appears to have quite a few items in the scan task list so its possible that through out the day it wasn't performing the same task but different ones at their preset times. The other possibility is/was Email scans each time you were checking email ? Its been 8 months since you had a Pccillin 2002 ? I'm wondering if possibly you had one of the very early releases where this might have been a possible bug that was corrected at a later time Please don't take these the wrong way I am in no way trying to put down Lee's emails only trying to provide information for others who might be interested in using Pccillin. *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 7/25/02 at 08:47 AM Lee Rhodes wrote: >No it wasn't related to a firewall...telling me every time it was checking >the system for viruses and it was many times a day...when it was on I had >to stop what I was doing as there was no minimize....at least that's how I >remember it...been 8 mos. since I had it. >Lee Rhodes lenella@xxxxxxxxxxx > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Christy" <snowz@xxxxxxxxxx> >To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Sent: Thursday, July 25, 2002 7:46 AM >Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Pccillin Firewall (was Deleted Mail) > > >> >> Morning Lee >> >> Just because a computer has Pccillin on it doesn't >> mean the firewall is enabled (tho it would be silly >> not to be unless something else was installed to >> replace) However your second comment of the popups >> leads to believe it was installed and working >> properly as the pop up notices would have been alerts >> to programs trying to connect out (your programs >> requesting permission) or IN others trying to >> probe/hack you.
