Hi Patti, In Explorer, you're seeing actual folders under that Content IE5, but they won't show their true contents under normal conditions. Instead, they act as a virtual folder and show every file they can find under a number of other 'internet related' folders. For instance, by clicking on them individually, you'll find cookies mixed in with all of the files inside ALL of those 27 subfolders (bearing names like N59R8GS). To REALLY see what's in each subfolder, right click on one and choose Search or Find (depending on your OS). After running the search, I'll bet you'll find that most of them are empty. If you find any that do NOT have a desktop.ini file included in the results, you can safely delete the entire subfolder. When you're finished with all of them, I expect there to be only 4 or 8 folders remaining. To save you a lot of time, look for the desktop.ini file first. If it's not there, delete the folder and be done with it. 8^) Peace, G Man PCTechTalk Owner ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patti or Ken" <patken@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, October 24, 2002 2:43 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Manually deleting temporary Internet files I have a query about the Temporary internet Files directory. There is a sub-directory named Content IE5 which in turn has 27 directories. On checking them they are all filled with the same files. All empty out when I delete but the directories stay. Should I delete these as well?
