Your post caused me to look to see if I still have version 7!  I have so 
far.  The little shield is back though telling me I have an update to 
install and it is version 8 of IE.  I canceled again.

P.S.  If I knew for sure the procedure for going back to version 7 from 
version 8 I would tell you but I don't remember either!
