Your problem most likely is due to your bios limitations. The size limits vary by bios limitations and the large disk block mapping methods used. Good Old DOS has a limit of 1024 cylinders. The number cylinders reported by your bios will vary on large disks depending on the large disk block mapping method used. I've used some bios's with 3 methods, by switching methods used for a drive, I would get 3 different numbers for the heads,cylinders,sectors values.
