Have you checked for a BIOS update? Or did the drive come with "drive
overlay software" ? Is it possible to manually input the drive
parameters in the BIOS ?

Lets start afresh with this problem..Here's what I've done/tried so far
IBM 82.3gb hard drive
Installed as master hard drive and only hard drive (Other h/d unplugged)
Booted into BIOS, re-set the master and it identified it correctly as
82.3gb-also changed the slave to 'not installed'
Restarted with boot disc
Got to the a> prompt-typed in fdisk
went to set a primary partition
the integrity check went ok
total disk space shows as 12993 mb!!!!
Anyone ANY ideas what is going on? I'm really at my wits-end with this
now
