I read thru the sites...and I guess the simplest response is they say don't mess with D drive. just forget it because it doesn't get used until you do a recovery or reformat...sooooooooooooooooo I will forget it's there. And the one blog mentioned that you have no way of knowing what has been done to D drive if you defragment. It could have been damaged. SOOOO I will leave well enough alone. I just HATE the fact you have to make your own recovery disks...what cheap skates... any blooming way to save a $... I will keep the rest of my comments to myself about THAT ml ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dr. Benway" <benwaydr@xxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: <benwaydr@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 11, 2007 4:52 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: D drive backup Hi, It sounds like you have some variety of an HP computer a couple of which I have and on which I ran into the same problem you are talking about. I give you the two sites that helped me on this one but remember they apply to HP systems that come pre-installed with a restore drive (usually D and usually with the amount of free space you describe). If it is not an HP than Gman's advice is the way to go. The first one is the least techie :) http://tinyurl.com/2g4f9e The second one is pretty thorough: http://tinyurl.com/29v747 --- Miz ML <my2punkin@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Do I dare defrag D drive?
