Dolores,

Ans #1. I've never had that happen to me and I used PM for nearly 10
years. I've since switched to Partition Manager by Paragon (although I
haven't decided if the relationship will become long term yet lol). My
best guess is that the drive and all of its contents perhaps have been
'encrypted' either by PM or by yourself after the partitioning. Whatever it
is, I suggest that you fire up PM and use it to view the Properties for that
partition. It may tell you exactly what's going on with it. If it does,
report back here and let us know so we can help you make it right.

Ans #2. If you're asking whether or not you can go back and 'readjust'
the sizes later, the answer is Yes.

NOTE to anyone else following this thread:
The following directions are ONLY meant for Dolores' situation. The idea is
the same for all resizing of partitions, but the details (drag to the
left/right, etc.) will vary depending on the locations & number of
partitions in question.

Dolores,
In Partition Magic, you would first select the second partition of this
hard drive (the one you want to make smaller) and then use the 'Resize'
command. A separate window will open showing you the partition as a simple
bar with some info below it. Use your cursor to grab the left end of the
bar and drag it toward the right (the cursor will change to let you know
you're at the right spot). As you move the end, watch the sizes showing
below the image. Once you've freed up the amount of space you want to give
to the first partition, let go of the mouse button and then click on OK.
Next, bring up the 'Resize' command for the first partition. You'll notice
tha the amount of space you freed up previously is now available to this
partition. Go ahead and grab the right end of this one and drag it all the
way to the right so that it eats up the extra space. When you get to the
end, let go and hit OK. Finally, tell PM to proceed with the commands you
just performed (everything you did up to this point will be written as an
instruction script for PM to follow during a reboot).

Peace,
GMan
