A new drive letter will show up when you plug the drive in -- once the drive has been formatted. Right-click the My Computer icon, and select Manage. Double-click Disk Management. Find the drive, right-click, and one of the options should be to format. Be very sure that you're formatting the correct drive, else you may find yourself with lots of data gone. If nothing in the list is definitely the correct drive, I'd suggest contacting the Maxtor help desk. -- Scott. Hi Scott, I already called Maxtor on the USA Internet Relay and the technician was very helpful. One problem is the 3200 cannot go into a hub and cannnot go on the front USB port - only on one of the rear ones. I even got a message on my task bar that USB 2 is faster than 1.1. With regard to format are you sure that a format is necessary. Maxtor did not mention this. There are now hard drives for C, D, and G and removable storage for A, E, and F. G is the maxtor. The diagnostic tool is insane but the drives mentioned exist on My Computer. Gerald __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
