What shortcuts to the procedures he/she has used. Who are the real
power brokers in the operations department -- there is usually one SA
or admin etc who can get things done fast.

who NOT to talk to -- which person is going to make sure that things
are as hard as possible for you.

When asking questions... if you disagree with how something is done,
ask WHY it was done that way (instead of saying "that's wrong").
There's usually a business reason why it's done bass-akward.

Find out who manages the Oracle licenses, how you can get onto the
Metalink account access, what you are actually licensed for....
