When I started my first computer programming job, one of the other
programmers asked me if I could turn the buzz down. I said I couldn't and
explained what
it was. He understood and everyone I worked with just got used to it. They
were so impressed that I could read print and read both the paper programs and
books and the printing on the screen that they put up with it. I can see though
that if you had a sensitivity problem to the sound that it could drive you
crazy.
