Apple is behaving ever more like the Ma Bell of the old days.

The author has it right.

If you don't like what Apple if offering buy something else. This has worked just fine for Microsoft for several decades, although the near monopoly draw of Windows seems to be losing steam.

Not only is Apple dealing with a global minefield of regulations, they are ALSO trying to navigate the treacherous would of the media conglomerates, to create alternatives to the oligopoly control over TV distribution.

You are not being very consistent here Bert. You want to deregulate TV broadcasting, but seem fine with the highly regulated world of the telecoms...
