My guess is that at a given price point, the set will incorporate the IP interface whether or not the customer "wants it." But I agree with Kon that it will die on the vine if it's as limited as they are making it. Gimme a very basic general purpose browser and an IR-connected keyboard, and maybe it will become a useful feature. I'd use it, rather than watching catch-up shows or foreign TV news on a PC, quite gladly. Probably not needed as part of a PVR's front end, since these shows tend to be on-demand already. The protestations from those who bemoan the supposed high cost of the ATSC receiver were always mostly for (annoying) dramatic effect. The whole premise of those receivers has always been that they would be combined with digital cable receivers (at least), so that a large fraction of the buying public would find them useful. Which is what transpired. And that the cost would be minimal, which has also transpired. The CE manufacturers have seen the light. Pundits are slower.
