Here you go... Nostalgia de la luz http://prezi.com/z_xj6bgdkhiq/nostalgia-de-la-luz/ Machuca http://prezi.com/aofdi7hamzcg/machuca/ Samsara http://prezi.com/ak86uvbdgtpw/untitled-prezi/ I should note that both Samsara and Machuca contain scenes that are inappropriate for most student audiences, but since the students are accustomed to seeing clips and not necessarily the entire film, it makes it easy to edit them out. Also, I have a special request: if you end up using these prezis in class, could you write me a quick e-mail telling me how things went and if you felt that if affected your students' learning? I'd love to insert such messages into my National Board portfolio. The main idea underlying this Prezi is that watching 90 minutes of a film is engaging, but to get the students producing Spanish and meaningful commentary, I break up the film into smaller chunks that, after viewing, they can partner up and talk about. It extends the viewing out, but gets them out into a more active interpretive mode. I have similar activities with "Nostalgia de la Luz," "Machuca," and "Samsara" (which has zero dialogue - entirely show, don't tell), if you are interested. -----Original Message----- From: ola-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ola-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Lisa Home Gmail Sent: Tuesday, April 08, 2014 1:00 PM To: ola@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ola] Movies: Sin nombre & Which Way Home Has anyone shown their Spanish class the films Sin nombre and/or Which Way Home? I have not yet seen either but they were recommended to me by a student. Appropriate for 2 & 3 year Spanish? Do any of you have any activities/worksheets/discussion questions for the movies that you're willing to share? Thank you, Lisa (Sent from my phone. Please excuse any undetected auto-corrections!)
