It maybe obvious but how can one reformat the disc whilst you are
running the OS? Or do you run off a disc - but this is not possible if
the OS being loaded is on two discs is it?
I will checkout the 10.2.6 situation - maybe someone in London has one
available?

Yes, I bought it last week from Future Shop as an 'Open Box' item which
means it was either on demo for a while or returned by another purchaser
(which would have been probably within a couple of weeks [their time
limit for a return].
