We have a process set up on Exchange Server 2003 which allows us to define type of folders to delete and how often to delete and we even receive a mail once done. This process does not require a client open. The process is through the Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager, and we have set up a script that implements the deletion on all mailboxes that have a Description "to delete". I am not well versed in the technicalities of this process, but this should be enough to get an Exchange Systems Manager to enable this. Our Consultant did it in all of 10 minutes. Hope this helps Ofra -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Elise Miller Sent: 24 August, 2006 19:00 To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Outlook 2003 rules question - on Exchange I have a client that has a website with an email address on it that gets a lot of inbound mail, all of which needs to be automatically deleted, since the box is unmonitored. I wanted to set up a rule in Outlook to permanently delete all the inbound mail, but it ends up being a client-only rule, so it only runs when Outlook is running, and that's not possible since no one is ever logged on as that user. Then I wanted to set up a rule to just delete the emails, and find some way to periodically empty out the Deleted Items without having to have Outlook running. Does anyone on an Exchange Server know if this is possible?
