>>I think FP is a snap and DW is WAY confusing....maybe it's cuz I'm so used to Microsoft products and the interface is just more intuitive for me, but I don't see Dreamweaver (the more expensive of the two) being easier AT ALL It's not easier...just better.<wink> And once you learn one app from MX, the rest are no problem. Seeing that I'd been using HomeSite for YEARS (and a beta tester for version 4) when Macromedia bought out HomeSite and incorporated the best of HS into DW...it was a no brainer for me to learn DW. Had it mastered in two days and now that I know DW, learning Flash, Animator and Fireworks has been NO big deal. In fact, just to blow you away even more, see what I can do now!!!!!!!! I have a new client who wants me to help their 97 users move to XP, here's a sample of my training site. Note, you need sound to hear my instruction and decent bandwidth to view this Flash movie. http://www.mousetrax.com/training/wordxpintro01.html Dian Chapman Technical Consultant, Instructor, Microsoft MVP & TechTrax Editor Word AutoForm/VBA eBook: http://www.mousetrax.com/books.html Tutorial web site: http://www.mousetrax.com/techpage.html TechTrax Ezine: http://www.mousetrax.com/techtrax/ -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda F. I think FP is a snap and DW is WAY confusing....maybe it's cuz I'm so used to Microsoft products and the interface is just more intuitive for me, but I don't see Dreamweaver (the more expensive of the two) being easier AT ALL Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Greg Chapman Sent: Wednesday, December 18, 2002 2:37 PM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Re: Dian won't be around much either I won't speculate on her reasoning but I will point to a flaw in your own (after all, you don't seem too shy to apply the method yourself). People will spend money on tools they can use with minimal training despite a cheaper priced alternative that provides too many challenges. Your assertion that "it's the user, not the tool" is inaccurate and serves people poorly. It's the same argument Sun used to use to ignore valid arguments about the cost of creating enterprise systems (of course, they weren't shy about price either so they had both barrels loaded and aimed directly at their feet). Or the inverse of the arguments that Microsoft used to successfully wipe out Word Perfect. People who were actually trained in print production actually found Word Perfect to be much better suited to their needs as electronic typographers. But the larger market was the one Word was designed for and the opinions of those experienced producers took a back seat. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
