Jeff,

Looks like you have a bummer there plus you must live in the "Rust Belt"
where salt is commonly placed on roads.  I have both the 93 2500 Dodge and a
2002 Chrysler mini-van and no work has been done on either of them other
than oil changes and in the case of the Cummins, I have adjusted the valves
two times.  Yes indeedy, you have to check the valves (mechanical lifters)
every 35,000 miles.  Your truck must have been assembled in Detroit on
Monday instead of in Mexico like mine was.  Maybe I better look in Google as
you suggest and see if the front end is going to stay put!  Thanks for the
tip..

Oh, the Dodge/Cummins has only 87,000 miles on it as it is mostly used in
towing our 32 foot camper (caravan), but I have read of one which has over
one and three quarters of a million miles on it.
