Hello, Josey, how are you? Long time no see.
re: your questions
1. Q: Will this protest change the minds of the august bodies Senate and
House of U.S.
A: No. They all already know how their constituencies feel.
2. Q: Will this protest open the door to making something illegal legal?
A: One can always hope. Like illegally sitting in at lunch counters in
the 60's made it legal -- remember?
Look, if these congressmen were serious about stopping illegal immigration,
they'd impose onerous fines on the employers and failing that significant
jail sentences. But they're not about to do that. The employers are their
lifeblood (read money) and the employers NEED these people. So the
government will go on letting as many as they can in to fill the jobs,
hoping this all blows over with some tough rhetroic and some dramatic news
video, praying that the next cycle of xenophobia comes in an off election
year. If worse comes to worst, they'll let the posse comitatus Minutemen
lynchers sharpshoot the immigrants as they cross over until the bloodlust of
America is finally satisfied, unidentified studies show they'll only be able
to kill 20 percent of the illegals. Acceptable losses from human resources
perspectives.
Hope that answers your questions.
