I'd like Lawrence's differentiation between liberal and leftist?

Beautifully said, Lawrence. I agree with everything you said, it was said
with such an appreciation for nuance and meaning.

Except for identifying Andreas with the Leftist / Islamist position. That's
ridiculous.

Your descriptions are meaningful and valuable; your evaluations using
terminology like "Leftist / Islamist position" are intrusive. They blur
meaning,
alienate, and block meaningful discussion.

Since Mike asked, I take Andreas note below to be consistent with the
Leftist/Islamist position. Hizbollah attacked Israel but that doesnât
matter.
Only the dead matter. If Israel defends itself it is being a warmonger
state.
This leaves Hizbollahâs tactics in tact. They shouldnât have to pay for
their adventure. This view would, if put into effect, prevent Israel from
defending itself. Israel is a warmongering state if it defends itself.
Note the neutral it is âhorribleâ that 12 people in âIsrael died in
rocket
attacksâ but no blame is attached to Hizbollah. It might as well have been
a
meteor that struck those 12 people. Islamist Mullahs who sided with America
after 9/11 thought it horrible that those people died in the Trade Center
attack, but they stopped well short of assigning blame for the deaths.
Andreas does do something you donât normally see in Leftist/Islamist
arguments. He says there are warmongers in control in Lebanon, Syria and
Iran, but
he does it in such a way that there is moral equivalence between what the
Islamists do and what Syria, Iran and Lebanon (I assume he means Hizbollah)
does. There isnât enough here to see a developed political theory, but
anarchists blame states and not people for the evils of the world.

Lawrence, do you mean whether we side with the Israeli people, or the
government of Israel?
Today, 12 people in Israel died in rocket attacks. That's horrible. I side
with the people
in both Israel and Lebanon and this ridiculous, meaningless war should stop
instantly.
I don't side with the warmongers in control of Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iran,
and the White
House. They are idiots who only care about power and money. All the talk of
patriotism and
defense and peace is just crap that they use to make money and get others to
die.
I don't see you siding with the people of the world. You constantly take the
side of
warmongers. Where are you? Constructive peace or endless narcissistic war?
