I think a JHB fly-in would be a great idea. Its a shame we appear to be unable to send Ernie our good wishes, but I guess because we use e-mail constantly we don't see that the day will come when its not available. Maybe we should let Bones have our snail mail addresses and phone numbers ready for the day.

I can only echo the comments that have been said and I hope he enjoys the rest of his life getting the care he deserves
what do people think about maybe a jhb groupflight to celebrate his time with us ??

If so he might be able to get in touch again.. The email I got suggests that Ernie is going straight from hospital to the home so I can only assume someone is back at his house winding things up. I assume they plugged into his email account and got swamped by JHB posts and were kind enough to let us know what has happened. Had they not Ernie would just have disappeared without trace. It's a pity but the post wasn't signed.. bones bones@xxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mike Brook Sent: 31 May 2009 16:25 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: Ernie bones - That is really sad news, should the opportunity arise I'm sure that we would all want to send Ernie our very best wishes and thank him for his friendship over the years. He's made of the 'right stuff' and always made me think of my dear old dad, sadly now long departed, who was also a flyer of the old school. They don't make 'em like that any more ... 8-( M. -----Original Message----- From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Fossil Sent: 31 May 2009 13:50 To: JHB Private Email Subject: [jhb] Ernie I am really sorry to say this but Ernie has left us. I received a short message yesterday to say that he has been in hospital and will be moved to a residential home on Monday. I'm not sure who sent the message but I am assuming his email account is being closed down. I replied to the message but have had no response so I suspect communication is now at an end. Very sad. I really admired Ernie - he started with FS very late in life but his enthusiasm was endless. He got stuck into FPI/IVAO without a second's thought and racked up a really impressive number of hours (788) in a very short length of time. I can only hope that the accommodation he is being moved into is good and that he gets treated with dignity there - he deserves it. I haven't the heart to remove Ernie from the roster and will leave him on the hours page as my tribute to a great bloke. bones bones@xxxxxxx <mailto:bones@xxxxxxx> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
