The email was worded in a way that suggested it was a final notice and
although I replied right away I've had no response. I'm assuming a family
member has just replied to each outstanding email and notified everyone that
the account is closed. I can only assume that the account will actually
cease at the end of the month.

Just a thought, but have you got the dreaded "undeliverable" message since
Ernie's email went silent? If not then it is presumed that his email address

is still good. Might be worth sending a message with the hopes that someone
will reply.

I only talked to Ernie on a couple of occasions but his accent took me back
to the County of my birth. He will be sorely missed by all of us if he
doesn't return.
