I'm afraid I'm a relatively new member and didn't get to know him

But from the kind testaments of you all, he sounds a wonderful guy, very much
"old school", earning respect from his piers -  here's all the best to him
wherever he is

It is all too easy to lose track of friends we make on the net, I'd be happy to
give Bones my real life contact details if it helps

Just a thought, but have you got the dreaded "undeliverable" message since
Ernie's email went silent? If not then it is presumed that his email address is
still good. Might be worth sending a message with the hopes that someone will
reply.

I only talked to Ernie on a couple of occasions but his accent took me back to
the County of my birth. He will be sorely missed by all of us if he doesn't
return.
