Thanks. They don't do the same thing really; it's very unfortunate MS chose to call their product a "firewall"; it serves only to lull folks into a false sense of security. They really should have called it "intrusion protection" or something to differentiate it from personal firewall software. It's pretty obvious from the remarks made here that it has engendered a lot of confusion as to what it does and doesn't protect against.
