Adrian, unfortunately none of y our suggestions worked.
If the person helping my wife messed up my settings, I will whip her with a
wet noodle.
All of this occurred when she put Panda antivirus on.
Panda really messes up Jaws and window Eyes and is totally nonaccessible.
It has been removed.
My bottom line does not say the number of files.
It actually reads other folder titles on the screen.
Insert tab does nothing.

Two thoughts for how to obtain this information.
First, I just tried this on Outlook 2003 and it worked. While at the message
list in a folder, switch to the JAWS cursor and go to the bottom line. Here
the number of messages is read.
2. This doesn't work on my machine, but since insert-3 has stopped working
on yours, maybe the change makes this one work instead. Insert-tab ought to
tell you not only the number of messages in a folder, but also where you're
positioned on that list. I wish this worked here.

Running Jaws 12 with outlook 2007.
I use to hit insert numpad 3 to hear amount of messages in the folder I was
in.
Now it does not work.
All I changed was the scheme. It has been changed back, but insert does not
work.
Any helpful suggestions?
