Yes Dave, it is interesting how we all use jaws differently. I personally
have jaws on beginner but I turn off the "tutorial and custom messages" to cut
down on the babble.
I think I left it in beginner because of some of the information I miss when in
the intermediate or advanced modes. But again find other ways of cutting down
on how much jaws speaks.

Tom,

Interesting XP Pro Outlook 2007 JAWS 12. I cannot ever get the xxx of yyy
message. However I do hear a difference in other ways depending on
verbosity. I keep things in advanced mode, but beginner and intermediate
mode may explain why some people are getting different result from others.

I've got to keep that in mind when questions come in. The verbosity setting
has a pretty big impact on how things are spoken.

I am using XP pro and jaws11 so I do not know if it is the same under
windows seven but the sayline will eventually get to the number your on and
after it reads all about the file or folder it will say something like 100
of 200.
I have never found another way of getting that information except for
sayLine.

Adrian,
On my HP, W7 64 bit, JAWS 11, Office 2007 the insert+numpad 3 gives me the
number of messages in the folder.
I really do wish I could find "where" in the folder I am such as 135 of 402.
Insert+tab only gives me what insert+ up arrow does, no numbers.

Two thoughts for how to obtain this information.

First, I just tried this on Outlook 2003 and it worked. While at the message
list in a folder, switch to the JAWS cursor and go to the bottom line. Here
the number of messages is read.

2. This doesn't work on my machine, but since insert-3 has stopped working
on yours, maybe the change makes this one work instead. Insert-tab ought to
tell you not only the number of messages in a folder, but also where you're
positioned on that list. I wish this worked here.

Running Jaws 12 with outlook 2007.
I use to hit insert numpad 3 to hear amount of messages in the folder I was
in.
Now it does not work.
All I changed was the scheme. It has been changed back, but insert does not
work.
Any helpful suggestions?
