Roy, you're saying that because JAWS 9 worked with the IE8 Beta 1, that it
therefore would work with the IE8 Final Release?

I wouldn't have bet on that. I wouldn't trust that MS didn't make some changes
from Beta to the final release -- after all, isn't that what a Beta release is
all about, to allow users to point out issues with the product and allow
last-minute fixes?

Yes, I do agree that when JAWS 10 was released, it was touted as fully
supporting IE8.

from the JAWS help section what's new in JAWS 9
"JAWS 9.0 supports Windows Internet Explorer® 8 Beta 1 release."
that means that JAWS 9 had support for Internet explorer 8 while it was in
beta so of course it is supported in JAWS 9. I do believe however, that the
support in JAWS 10 for ie 8 is better.

FS tech support doesn't know what it's talking about. I have been using
IE8 successfully with JAWS 9 for over a year.

      Hi all,

Mr. Carlson was correct when he asked me about I.e. 8. I wrote to
Freedoms tech support and was told I.E 8. was not compatible with jfw 9.

I removed it and went back to seven and all is well.

      Best,

      David'
