Hi Rick, Bruce, Marsha and others,I can confirm Rick's statement (now I know that Marsha is talking about). Under some email clients, you would notice that the attachment is being scanned. This is because some online email clients, as webbl as email programs like Outlook with antivirus plug-in, it will scan the attachments and it will give you the message that says whether the file is infected or not (I'm thankful that Bruce has reminded me about virus scan). So Marsha, the statement about attachment is not a JAWS problem, whether, it is the duty of the email client (AntiVirus programs to be exact) to ensure that the attachments that you get are not infected.
Cheers, Joseph

I have to agree with Bruce here, It's not a Jaws 8 only issue
I've seen it
in 7 as well.

HiIf the false reporting of attachments isn't a Jaws problem,
then why does
it only happen with Jaws 8?

The phantom attachments are not JAWS's fault.

Marsha,
I have the same experience of JAWS 8 reporting buttons as
"inactive," but
you'll find they are, in fact, working. As for phantom
attachments, I
encountered that issue in JAWS 6.2 as well as 8, and I think
more often.
Otherwise, I find JAWS 8 gives me greater, not less, access to
the Net and
other applications. ----- Original Message ----- From: "marcatony" <marcatony@xxxxxxxxx
I am very disapointed in Jaws 8. There are so many sites that I
can not
getit to read. Between telling me there are non-existant
attachments to
tellingme that buttons are inactive. I have two versions of Jaws close
at hand
since Jaws 7 seems to be able to read more things.
