Apt-get in Fedora uses the same repositories as Yum does.

But it takes time and effort and in the process you get many disappointed
users and lose many.

You will have to be more specific here.

Thats what I said in my previous mail, sane defaults. 

Depends on what you consider sane defaults and yes the repository 
contents can change any minute.
