we can always specify the nearby places if we want.
For ex: My residence is in Virugambakkam and the nearby places are
vadapalani, koyembedu, saligramam.
But don't list your name under each heading corresponding to nearby
area. I already pointed out the problem and visitors can easily
browse through locations (that are nearest to them) themselves.
A mathetical blow ...
* f(x) is areas nearest to X (say within d kilometers)
f(x) will look like a circle
f(x1) and f(x2) may overlap [ Let the intersection be f(x1) # f(x2) ]
(v1 in x1, v2 in x2)
Now the visitor resides in f(x1) # f(x2). He certainly don't know
where v1 or v2 resides. How would he decide whether he should call up
v1 or v2. v1 may be nearest to him/her, but the proposed method of
listing doesn't reflect this well. Instead if each volunteer is
listed under single location, he (visitor) could easily find out the
nearest guy. All he/she has to do his expand the circle around his
area and keep looking for volunteers at the locations enclosed!
bear with me ....

* please use bullets for the various distros you have
* specify the preferable time to call your phone no.
If you like update the policy. it's a wiki :)
